Nokhbagan Institute of Higher Education is one of the leading higher education institutes in Afghanistan in terms of infrastructure. It was established in 2017 and currently opened to applicants with 4 main disciplines and various departments. Nokhbagan serves under the Khana-e-Noor Educational Network (KEN) administration. It is located in Mazar-e-Sharif, a northern province of Afghanistan. Nokhbagan aims to educate students with national values imbedded with modern system of education. It is vision is to be a research oriented and national standing university
General Objective: The Chancellor is responsible for overall academic and administration affairs of the university. The Chancellor overseas and administers the budgets for the entire university. Supports the Vice Chancellor academics in his/her efforts in achieving the national accreditation and academic excellence. In addition, the Chancellor has oversight responsibility for the recruiting, hiring, retention, and performance of top lecturers and academic administrators.
This position requires intellect, thoughtfulness, diplomacy, discretion, the ability to work effectively with others in all aspects and at all levels of the university, the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive matters and the academic integrity.
Leading the University Academically and administratively.
Define the University’s strategic vision, mandate and direction, and identify opportunities to advance and deliver on that vision, mandate and direction
Lead the setting of University goals and the determination of priorities and allocation of resources to meet those goals
Lead the creation, implementation and compliance with University strategic plan and oversee the development and implementation of the University’s comprehensive policy manual.
Protect and build on the university’s reputation.
Promote great leadership qualities at the University.
Make connections between research, industry and the community at large.
Establish and enhance provincial, national, and international collaborations
Direct fund development initiatives and cultivate friends and donors to the University.
Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including the CEB, faculty, students, staff and community leaders, granting agencies, other educational institutions, and officials in all levels of the government.
Observe and anticipate trends in post-secondary education and anticipate and guide the University through issues and challenges and the Private Education sector
Preside over University events internally and externally.
Qualification: PhD in any discipline with an excellent academic record or a Master’s degree with more than 10 years of experience in leadership positions in a university or similar academic institution.
Nationality: Afghan National
Language: Dari, Pashto and English (Speaking, Writing and Comprehension)
Communication skills: Good communication skills in Dari, Pashto and English
Computer skills: (Word, Excel, MS Access, PowerPoint and Internet)
Competencies and personal characteristics: Negotiation skills, Relation building skills, Inter-personal skills, Problem Solving skills and Analytical skills.
