Mercy Corps has been working in Afghanistan continuously since 1986 with a large portfolio of programs addressing the promotion of sustainable licit livelihoods, agriculture development, youth vocational and natural resource management; it has helped more than 2.5 million Afghans through these wide-range of community–based agriculture and economic development programs. It is to mention that currently Mercy Corps is working in Kabul, Kandahar, Helmand, Takhar, Badakhshan, Parwan, Baghlan, Urozgan, Nangarhar, Balkh, Samangan and Herat.
With funding from SIDA (Swedish Development Agency) Mercy Corps intends to support youth, potential migrants and job seekers to develop enhanced market driven skills and knowledge for improved employability, income generation and resilience. The programme is scheduled to be implemented in Kabul, Parwan, Helmand, Kandahar, Herat and Nengarhar in close coordination with the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, the Martyred and Disabled (MoLSAMD).
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The Vocational Training Coordinator, reporting to the Deputy Programme Manager, will work closely with VTC Coordinators in Kabul, Nengarhar, Helmand and Kandahar to liaise with relevant authorities, projects to ensure the implementation of quality programming in target provinces. He/she is responsible for all enrollment process and recruitment of the teachers and contracted supporting staff for VTC, monthly salary payroll, keeps record of enrolled trainees from the vocational technical vocational centers VTC. The role involves working closely with (VTC, aftercare, female schools and male school’s coordinators) to collect enrolled (IDP, Returnee & Host community) trainees for the program and follow up trainees throughout their courses, as well as assisting supervisor, Programme Manager and Deputy Program Manager providing monthly program progress, Quarterly and yearly reports, collect market information from ESC (Employment Service Center) as well as any further needs that are identified.

Afghanistan has one of the slowest internet speeds in the world. Broadband connection is not available in everywhere and mobile data as a most used way to connect to the world is very expensive. Job search portals are very heavy and takes lots of time to load; therefore making it very hard and time-consuming for job seekers to find their dream job. To address this problem we launched Afghanistan's first speed optimized job search portal, with at least 15 times faster load time and maximum 200 kbs page size.
