Job Description:

SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

The IT Assistant will use his knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience for the administration of AGC’s corporate network, including LAN, WAN, wireless, VoIP and CCTV, corporate firewall, Management and troubleshooting of attendance, access control devices and public address system, etc. The IT Assistant works within the IT department and reports to the IT manager.

Job Requirements:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency;
2. Planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures
3. Manage network devices (routing, switching, load balancing, WAN acceleration, VPN, VLANS and firewalls) for wired and wireless networks in multiple offices.
4. Managing corporate public address system.
5. Configuration and management of Cisco switches and routers.
6. Configuration and management of corporate firewall (VPN, Rules & Policies).
7. Monitor and plan regular backups of overall network devices.
8. Installation and configuration of Server Such as Domain Controller Data Server Kerio Controller etc
9. Installation and Configuration of Network Devices Such as Network Printer Routers Scanners etc
10. Serve as a technical expert and one of the highest levels of escalation for network and security issues.
11. Implement and maintain wireless and wired security.
12. Manage configurations and the deployment of the network in compliance with established business practices.
13. Installation and Configuration of CCTV DVR software
14. Other duties as assigned by supervisors
15. To support the supervisor in the preparation of file

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

You will need to be firm and organized to work in IT department. Other skills that will help you in the job include:

• Bachelor degree in computer science with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
• Good team management skills
• The ability to work in a team and individually
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good attention to detail
• The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
• Knowledge of Computer/Networking and Database
• Ability to learn quickly, strong self-training readiness
• Good memory of how software and operating systems work

• Technical and analytical skills
• Ability to think logically
•  Enthusiasm for continual learning
• CCNA/CCNP Certified
• Very good Knowledge & experience in Network (Routers, Network Protocols, VPN, Load balancing, Voip. etc) using Cisco and Linux platform including installation and configuration

QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS) – Specialization Networking and Database
• Relevant experience in IT Department
• Fluency in languages e.g., English, Dari and Pashto
