Job Description:

Main Responsibility

• The guard will work under the supervision of the Logistics Assistant.
• He ensures the general security of people and goods in the MdM Kabul Office / Guest House & warehouse.
• He maintains clean record (containing civil status and signature, following a given pattern) of the people accessing the premises.

Main Activities

• The guard is responsible for the security of the assigned area, and is responsible for any disappearance occurred in his working area.
• Inform without delay the supervisor or the MdM Log Asst/Logistics Officer if anything in the MdM premises is missing or damaged.
• Allow only MdM project personal to enter the premises. All visitors must wait outside the gate until they get permission to enter. Entering permission is given by a member of the MdM supervision team. All visitors (non MdM staff) must be recorded in visit book.
• Keep the yard/compound of the MdM premises clean and orderly.
• Ensure that the security lights in MdM compounds are all in working condition and report immediately any problem to the Logistics Assistant/Officer.
• Help to load/unload trucks or cars upon request of the MdM team.
• Maintain the proper functioning of his equipment used for work and report any broken materials.
• Ensure all doors of the building are closed and/or locked at night.
• Report any security related issues to the supervisor
• Compound by garden duties (water the plants, water tank to be filled, rubbish to be cleaned)
• Compound by generator duties (switch On/Off as per fixed timings or as per request of MdM management, cleaning of the generator, fuel level checks, etc.)
• Participate in internal work meetings and inform the supervisor on logistic issues.
• Maintaining full confidentiality for all work-related information

Job Requirements:

• School passed. Preferably to have 3+ years of experience especially with I/NGO’s.
• Able to understand and speak some English (time, directions…). Speaking Dari is compulsory. Speaking Pushto will be the additional asset.
• Has to be very punctual and committed to MdM programs.
• Should report any case of emergency.
• Sense of confidentiality.
• Have knowledge about basic security procedural measures.
